U-19 Japan National Team squad's training camp report (30 June)

01 July 2014

U-19 Japan National Team squad's training camp report (30 June)

The U-19 Japan National Team started their training camp in Tokyo. The first training session was from 4:30 in the afternoon. Some players, who had played matches at their own football clubs the day before, did some stretching, core training and running in order to recover. The others did some four-on-two passing after the warm-up exercise, followed by a four-on-four shooting game.

At the training camp, there were some players, who had been selected again after some time, as well as some new faces, but they all seemed to understand that the time together would go quickly. They spent time talking about football between practice sessions as well and concentrated on their training, chasing the ball hard.
The squad will have a practice game against Omiya Ardija on 1 July and another against the combined team of FC Tokyo and a J1 team on 2 July. They will face real tests both as a united team and as individuals by playing against those strong teams.
The players will try and show their best, so your support and encouragement will be much appreciated.

Comments

YOSHIMARU Kenshin (Vissel Kobe)
We adjusted ourselves depending on our individual condition on the first day of the camp. Sometimes when I’m in a squad, it’s difficult to adjust myself, as each player is in a different condition. The coming two matches are very important steps for the future. So I’ll give it my best shot. I’d like to contribute to the team as well as play my style. We’ll play as a united team.

HAVENAAR Nikki(Nagoya Grampus)
As it’s been a while since I was selected for the squad, I will do my best to stand out. With just under four months to go before the final qualifying round in Asia, these two practice games mean a lot to us. It’s very important to show how good we can play there. I’ll do my best to contribute to the national team.

KITAGAWA Shuto(Tsukuba University)
As each player’s condition was different at today’s practice session, it was difficult to adjust as a team. However, I’d like to focus on the results and what we do in the matches both tomorrow and the day after. I want to make this training camp a fulfilling one, so that we can improve our combinations in the three days of the camp and get through the final qualifying round.
