Coach Comment

TEGURAMORI Makoto, Coach
Playing against the gold medalists in the last Olympics will be a match for us to see where we currently stand. We just have to try and see what we can do as Asian champions against Mexico. Also I want to see how these U-23 players can adjust to playing against a non-Asian team in a non-Asian country. As for Mexico, I think they are a team that we should try to learn from because they are making their name in the world even though their physique is similar to that of us Japanese.

As the last note, I would like to show my appreciation to the Japan Football Association which gave this generational category a precious opportunity of team activity even during this important international match week and also to the J.League clubs related who allowed the players to play with us.
