Japanese Head Coach for Vietnam Women’s National Team

Japan Football Association announced today, on 4 March 2015 that Takashi NORIMATSU, a Japanese Coach, took up the position as Head Coach of Vietnam Women’s National Team. Coach Norimatsu, experienced coach at many J. League clubs, has been dispatched to Vietnam as of March 2015. Japan Football Association and Vietnam Football Federation signed on a partnership MoU in July 2014, and this appointment came to fruition since its start of the partnership programme.

Coach Norimatsu expressed his excitement at an interview, “I feel a great potential in this team and I am ready to work hard to contribute to the development of women’s football in Vietnam. I believe the priority of my job is to show the team playing good football and at the same time achieve good results in the AFC and AFF competitions.”

Kohzo TASHIMA, Vice President and Executive General Secretary added “Mr. Norimatsu has various experience in coaching youth players at top J.League clubs and we know he will work very hard to guide the Vietnam Women’s National Team to be on the right path to become one of top teams in Asia in the near future. I would like to say VFF and JFA are closest friends to each other among the football family all over the world and we hope Mr. Norimatsu can bring more good news to women’s football in Vietnam.”

Men’s Vietnam National Team has been led by Coach Toshiya MIURA since last May. The team finished as semi-finalists at AFF SUZUKI CUP held in November 2014.
