Nagoya aim to avoid relegation in final Sec. of Prince Takamado Trophy U-18 Premier League WEST

Nagoya aim to avoid relegation in final Sec. of Prince Takamado Trophy U-18 Premier League WEST

The final Sec. of the Prince Takamado Trophy U-18 Premier League WEST will be held on Sunday 6 December.

This Sec. is vital for seventh place Sanfrecce Hiroshima FC Youth (Hiroshima), who will meet sixth place Kyoto Sanga F.C. U-18 (Kyoto) at home, to avoid relegation. They aim to earn three points to stay in the league. As MORIOKA Ryuzo, the coach of Kyoto, later commented: "we’ve never conceded that many goals before. It was a frustrating loss"; they were defeated by Hiroshima 5-2 in the last meeting in the 9th Sec. We cannot wait  to see whether the team is up to taking revenge.

Higashi Fukuoka High School (Fukuoka) will meet Vissel Kobe U-18 (Hyogo). Although Higashi Fukuoka lost two consecutive games during the final round, the coming match will be an essential one just before the All Japan High School Soccer Tournament. To claim the title as the best high school team in Japan, they are eager to stem the tide of negative results. Kobe, on the other hand, is the only team in the WEST, who has not lost more than one match in a row. They will try to sustain that record until the end.

Oita Trinita U-18 (Oita), who is in second place, lost the possibility to win the championship in the previous Sec. The coach YAMAZAKI Tetsuya expressed his enthusiasm: "we’d like to finish in as high a position as possible. We’ll play to win, so that there will be some smiles among the teams, especially for the third graders." The opponent, Riseisha High School (Osaka), on the other hand, must earn three points to avoid relegation.

Gamba Osaka Youth (Osaka) will play against another team from Osaka, Cerezo Osaka U-18 (Osaka). Gamba Osaka, who have already succeeded in claiming the WEST title in the previous Sec., stayed focused, just as the coach UMEZU Hironori did, describing the opponent: "we know Cerezo well. It will not be easy to defeat them." The team is eager to win in this Sec. again to build up positive momentum prior to the Championship. Cerezo Osaka, on the other hand, aim to avenge their previous big defeat 4-0.

Kyoto Tachibana High School vs  Nagoya Grampus U18

Nagoya Grampus U18 (Aichi), who scored seven goals against Cerezo Osaka in the previous Sec., will play against bottom placed Kyoto Tachibana High School (Kyoto).

Kyoto Tachibana could not pick up the pace in the final round. The coach YONEZAWA Kazunari indicated the sense of crisis: "they were too relaxed after booking a place in the High School Soccer Tournament." Although the team will be relegated due to the loss against Riseisha in the previous Sec., they need to show off their abilities at the end. Relegation-threatened Nagoya, on the other hand, have won two consecutive games since the 16th Sec. KITANO Seiya showcased his skills, scoring a hat trick in the previous Sec. The team aim to earn three points and wait for other results to see whether they can stay in the league or not.
