Japan Football Association (JFA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) on 6 September 2025. JFA and FMF will cooperate at various levels.

The signing ceremony took place at the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California, USA and went in an amicable manner. Both parties discussed how various exchanges can be conducted through the signing of the partnership and expressed high expectations for future initiatives.

The MoU ceremony was conducted in the presence of:
・Mr. Mikel ARRIOLA, President, FMF
・Mr. Enrique NIETO, Deputy General Secretary, FMF
・Mr. MIYAMOTO Tsuneyasu, President, JFA

The MoU between FMF and JFA aims to facilitate cooperation in the following areas:
・Training Programs for Coaches and Referees;
・Technical Visits;
・National Team Matches;
・Cooperation on Football-Related Topics;
・Exchange of Best Practices in youth development and grassroots programmes
・Exchange of expertise in sponsorship, broadcasting, and media rights; and
・Exchange of expertise in match operations.
