Comment of Coach MORIYASU Hajime of U-22 Japan National Team

Among the players of the Tokyo Olympics generation, we chose those who are performing well at their current teams and those who we think has a great potential. There were many other players we considered, but this is the short-list for now. Even looking at the group stage alone, the Toulon International Tournament will give us a great opportunity to face wonderful teams. I expect our team to be committed to earn results and showcase a high-quality performance at the tournament. I hope to see the players prove themselves that they belong to the final roster for the Tokyo Olympics. Lastly, I would like to thank all the J. League clubs and universities for allowing the players to join our team. Without your support, we cannot carry out our activities. We will keep that in heart and strive to become a better team through this tournament.
