Japan Beach Soccer National Team: Hold official practice at World Cup venue to check pitch conditions

Japan Beach Soccer National Team held an official training at the World Cup venue for one hour from 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday 26 April. Since the training at the match site was limited to 60 minutes for each team, the squad warmed up in the facilities nearby including their locker room prior to entering the pitch.

The training session started off with passing and controlling drills in groups of two, and then all the field players were spread out to the four corners of the field and practised long passes without letting the ball touch the ground. These passing exercises were expanded to include a series of combination plays finishing with a shot. To wrap up the day, they went through scrimmage training, where coach Marcelo MENDES and his players encouraged one another with positive words and ended the practice in an excellent mood for the coming first World Cup match against Poland scheduled the day after tomorrow.

The awaited World Cup will finally commence from Thursday 27 April. Japan National Team will hold a practice session tomorrow to prepare for their first match of the World Cup against Poland on the 28th from 15:30 local time.

Players' Comments

FP #2 SUZUKI Masato (Tokyo Lequios BS)
We had an important official practice at the match venue with only two days from our first game. We only had an hour for training, but we got used to the local sand quickly, and made an excellent preparation for the World Cup. I came to realise again how fortunate we are to play beach soccer in such a wonderful environment as a part of the Japanese national team. We will be competing as a untied team and give our best in every game as well. Please send us your support.

FP #3 HARAGUCHI Shotaro (Tokyo Verdy BS)
Now that we went through an official training at the match site and checked the pitch conditions, the opening of the World Cup is the only thing that awaits us. We are in an excellent mood with each player’s condition getting in prime form. To begin with, we will focus all our efforts in the first match.
