U-20 Japan Women’s National Team Papua New Guinea trip Day 3

On 26 May, the U-20 Japan Women’s National Team had their third day of the trip in Papua New Guinea.

Under the strong sun light, the team started their morning sessions with pass & control practice, they then had 6-on-6 + free man and 4-on-4 practical session in the half size pitch.

In the afternoon, they had more practical sessions for the match tomorrow: shooting exercise, attack from side wings, and a 6-on-6 mini game.

Their second match against the U-20 USA Women’s National Team will be at 19:00 (Local time) on 27 May.

Players' Comments

DF #3  ICHISE Nana (VEGALTA SENDAI LADIES)
For the match against the world’s top team, the USA Women’s National Team, what we aim at is to win the match, and as a player I want to keep a clean sheet. Considering their speed and strong fitness of USA, I want to learn some things to improve myself such as: how to use my body to block well, how to keep a good distance, and when to move the defence line.

MF #13  SHIMAMURA Yukiko (NITTAIDAI FIELDS YOKOHAMA)
I am looking forward to playing against USA. We will get united well to win and we want to see how valid our level of play as a player and as a team. This will be the last match in Papua New Guinea, so we will do our best not to have any regrets.
