U-17 Japan Women’s National Team's USA trip report (2/10)

11 February 2016

U-17 Japan Women’s National Team's USA trip report (2/10)

U-17 Japan Women's National team were on the fourth day of their USA trip.

In the morning, instead of training on the field, the squad went out for city sightseeing to come into contact with a different townscape and culture.

Refreshing their mind, they worked on more practical training in the afternoon compared to the previous workouts ahead of the opening match against Korea Republic at the U-17 Women's NTC Invitation starting from 11 February. After playing passing and controlling, a Rondo drill in groups of six and going through battles in front of goal and set pieces, the squad wrapped up the two-hour training session with an intra-squad scrimmage.

The USA trip is held as part of their team build-up stage for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Jordan 2016. The goal of the young girls is to win the tournament. Right after dinner, the players reviewed the afternoon's scrimmage to get ready for the contest tomorrow.

Players' Comments

MF #13  INOUE Hina (Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies)
We visited Santa Monica in the morning today and had an opportunity to communicate with various people. That was a good time. In the afternoon, we had training for tomorrow's opening match. We did a final check with set-pieces and an 11-on-11 game. We all will try to win the Korea Republic match and take advantage of what we learned from the three-day training for our future.

DF #5  KANEHIRA Risa (Hinomoto Gakuen Senior High School)
Tomorrow's Korea Republic match is the first one since we assembled for this team. We will try to combine well by communicating with each other at each play. It's an important opener, so we will win the match at any cost and play the next England match in a good mood.
