Vladica Grujic, Head Coach, Cerezo Osaka
First, I would like to congratulate Pohang. In the first half they were more aggressive than us. When we were about to get our momentum going, we lost a player because of the penalty. I think that call greatly affected the pace and outcome of the match. What we have to learn from this match is about the first goal we allowed. It was from our own mistake, not from their offense breaking down our defence. That mistake we shouldn’t have made. In the second half, we played very aggressively, but it was very difficult for us to play with ten players against such a good team. But I want to tell my players that they played well. With one less player, they did all they could do and left everything on the pitch.
Hwang Sun-Hong, Head Coach, Pohang Steelers
I am happy that we could achieve our goal. We now advance to the round 16, and will prepare for the next match.
