Objective

The Japan Football Association (“JFA”) holds Japan’s most prestigious competition for registered female players of first grade in junior high school students or older in order to improve football skill and physical and mental health of female players in Japan and contribute to the development of women’s football.

The numbers of teams to be selected from each region and league are as follows:.
Hokkaido: 1, Tohoku: 3, Kanto: 5, Hokushinetsu: 3, Tokai: 3, Kansai: 5, Chugoku: 2, Shikoku: 2, Kyushu: 2.

Awards

  • (1) The champions and runners-up teams will be awarded a certificate , medals and monetary award for their future team development. The third-placed team will be awarded monetary award for their future team development. The champions will be awarded the Empress’s Cup championship cup and retain it until the next cup is held.
  • (2) For the encouragement and development of fair play spirit, the Fair Play Award, consisting of a trophy and supplementary prize, will be awarded to the selected team in accordance with the JFA’s selection standard. The Fair Play Award will be given per team and selected from the final-four teams in the tournament.
