Comment of SHIRAI Sadayoshi, U-17 Japan Women's National Team Head Coach

We are now less than a month away from the start of the AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024. We are looking forward to competing together with all the clubs and schools our players belong to. Our group includes Thailand, Australia and China PR, countries that are competitive in addition to having "height, strength and speed", so we expect all the matches to be tough. In addition, this is a demanding competition with a maximum of five matches with only two days between each match, which will require teams to be tough in many different aspects of the game. We have selected 23 players who can fight hard in defence and offence, play multiple positions at a high level and are not afraid to take on challenges both on and off the pitch. I am sure that every player selected for this team will give their best on behalf of all the other players in their age group. It is not easy to win in Asia, but we want to qualify for the World Cup, win the Asian Cup and win the hearts of the people watching us.
