Japan return to base camp, resume training for third match

One day after their Greece match, the Japan national squad departed from the venue in Natal and returned to their base camp in Itu on 20 June.
The team left the hotel at 9 a.m. and got on a chartered flight that was prepared by the host. After a three-hour long flight, they arrived at Viracopos International Airport. The players appeared to show some fatigue, but by the time their training started at 4:30 p.m., they all seemed relaxed.
In the training session, those players who played in the previous day's match went through recovery menus, while others who didn't have any play opportunities practices, mainly playing mini games.

Comments

GK KAWASHIMA Eiji(Standard Liège (Belgium))
While we were only looking at nothing but the win yesterday, we wound up with the draw. So after the game was over, honestly it was tough for me to accept it, but we have one more match to play and will have to do what we can do toward it.
From our reflection from our first match, we were saying to each other that we would go aggressively, so I take it positively that we did play the kind of a game.
Obviously we have to refresh our mind, but I think that we are being tested how much we can keep our faith in our big goal that we've put up. We are going to shoot for the next game with big hearts.

FW SAITO Manabu(Yokohama F・Marinos)
(On the team's atmosphere) there were voices like, ''Next!'' soon after, and those who did not play like myself got to work in today's practice with high motivation as well, and we are all putting our heads up. It's certainly frustrating for me to not have not had a chance to play, but at the same time I'm keeping the guts to show what I can do when I have a chance, and I think everyone else does. I would like to prepare myself well enough so I can excel the expectations that I'm given.

FW KAGAWA Shinji(Manchester United FC (England))
We are only going to play in our style, and, although we've not come up with results we wanted, we just keep doing what we've believed in. We keep our faith in ourselves to gain a result we want, and we need to become one as a team to achieve that.

DF MORISHIGE Masato(FC Tokyo)
Matches won't wait and they keep coming, so we have got to switch our mind. The result was disappointing, but we still have a chance, so we are going to have to have better preparation to grab the chance. I think that if our backfield players push the entire team up and make the front field more compact in a courageous manner, we are going to have a better chance to win. So every one of our players should be encouraged to make challenge and play not being afraid of making mistakes.

DF NAGATOMO Yuto(F.C. Internazionale(Italy))
I think we are going to have to control our mental condition for each member after the defeat, otherwise we won't be able to face the next game in the right state of mind. So we are trying to put our heads up and take things positively.
The Greece match included, when we make shots given that many chances, everything will change. If we firmly convert our chances, we have a lot of chance to win. If we improve on elaborating our crosses, passes and shots, we have a chance to score no matter who we play against. So we are going to reflect on what we've done and go up against Colombia.
