Japan National Team’s new away kit released

Japan National Team’s new away kit released

The Japan Football Association (JFA) has remodeled the away kit of its national teams after revealing the new home kit last November.

In comparison with the home kit which features Japan’s traditional colour of “KACHI-IRO,” a dark indigo colour, widely considered as the colour of victory, the away kit is inspired by the white cloth ready to be dyed into the “Kachi-iro.” With a touch of futuristic style, the uniform features only white and red depicting the Japanese flag, making it the first away kit for the Japan National Team without the presence of the colour blue.

The three stripes featured on the left shoulder replicates the design from the uniform worn by the Japan National Team of 1992, who brought Japan its first ever international title by winning the second Dynasty Cup. Each stripes are uniquely designed and coloured differently, expressing the meticulous nature of the Japanese people. It also represents the concept of time, by depicting the past, present, and future, with the hope to build a stronger future for Japan.

In the same way with the home kit, the logo printed inside the lining combines the iconic designs of the past five kits worn at the previous five World Cups. This symbolises the strong will to inherit the history and experiences of the past 20 years to obtain true victory.

Similarly with the home kit, NADESHIKO Japan (Japan Women's National Team) and Japan National Futsal Team will also wear the same design with different logos printed inside the lining.

The new away kit will make its debut at SAMURAI BLUE’s (Japan National Team) international friendly against Mali held in Belgium on Friday 23 March. The uniforms will be available for purchase at general retail stores on Tuesday 27 March at midnight, while the Adidas Online Shop will start its pre-sale on Tuesday 20 March at 6 p.m.
