Japan Beach Soccer National Team squad Brazil trip report (3/21)

22 March 2016

Japan Beach Soccer National Team squad Brazil trip report (3/21)

21 March. Japan Beach Soccer National Team had two-a-day training on the morning and afternoon of their Brazil trip.

In the morning training session, they had some warm-up physical session using tubes to improve their condition. They then spent time to check their offense patterns from a goalkeeper’s throw-in to quickly break forward utilising the wings. In the end, they had various shooting exercises such as middle shots and over-head shots.

In the afternoon, they had practical training through games which was different from the morning’s physical sessions and technical exercises. The players spent most of their time with 4-on-4 + a goalkeeper formation and they checked some set play patterns to improve their accuracy. In the end, the team had an internal match using a full pitch and checked their combination as a team in a practical situation.

They will have two-a-day training again tomorrow to get ready well for the match against Flamengo which is planned on 23 March.

Players' Comments

TOMA Masahito (Tokyo Lequios BS)
Since I tore Achilles tendon last year, this is my first trip to Brazil so all the feeling I had until I came here was worry; I had one year to wait until at last I could come back here. However, after coming back to here I have more exciting feeling than worry. This is such a nice environment. I need some time to get familiar with the sand here regardless of my previous experiences playing on this beach, I’m feeling happy anyway to play here and I want to improve my level of play in this environment. As a player, it is important to show my advantages well since our Coach called me up again, and I also want to lead this team as a senior player. I also concentrate on getting good results.

OBA Takaaki (Dorsole Kitakyushu)
In the morning, we had sessions for physical conditioning and shooting, and in the afternoon we concentrated on checking tactics and set plays. For the match against the Brazil Beach Soccer National Team and for the coming competition, we have been able to get ready well by communicating actively amongst each other; this is to realise our coaches’ vision into our practical play. Facing with the issues which we found from the training match we had yesterday also helps us. We will get ready very well firstly for the match against the Brazil Beach Soccer National Team.
