Beach soccer Japan shortlisted squad training camp in Hyogo (19 Feb)

Beach soccer Japan shortlisted squad training camp in Hyogo (19 Feb)

On the second day of the Hyogo camp on Thursday 19, Japan Beach Soccer National Team had two-a-day training just as they did in the South America tour last month, and the shortlisted squad worked on physical training in the morning and an intra-squad scrimmage in the afternoon. The physical training in the morning included physically demanding workouts without balls for an hour and half.

As a draw took place yesterday for the AFC Beach Soccer Championship Qatar 2015 coming up next month, Japan’s players were already aware of their opponents in Group Stage. They looked motivated and kept running, firing up each other even during tough training sessions.

During the practice, many local people who happened to pass by the pitch appeared to get interested with a wondering look on their face, “why are they playing barefoot?” and stayed to watch it for a while.

Players Comments

YAMAUCHI Shusei(G.C.Nerine)
I have a clear objective for this camp that I will figure out the way to improve my weaknesses that I realized during the South America trip last month. Because my objective is clear, I’ve spent quite productive hours in this camp with high motivation toward training. I want to keep up good training in the rest of the camp and work hard to win the championship coming up next month.

GINOZA Tomoya(Tokyo Lequios BS)
It’s still the second day of the camp, but the mood in the team is pretty good. Even in the cold, every one yells to encourage each other and concentrates on our training. In the rest of the training from tomorrow, we all will aim at the style of beach soccer that our head coach is trying to do and enhance its perfection.

MAKINO Shinji (LEON Fukuoka)
It’s tough to play barefoot on the sand during these cold days as you might expect. But we are having a camp enthusiastic and productive enough to forget the cold.
In this camp, I will boost the team as a veteran player to step up our physical intensity and tactics as a team.
