JFA Uniqlo Soccer Kids in Osaka successful with over 2,000 participants

The JFA Uniqlo Soccer Kids is a fun festival in which any pre-elementary school children of six years old or younger can participate. Kyocera Dome Osaka in Osaka Prefecture hosted it on 25 January, assembling 2,225 children from 149 teams, including some individual participants.

Former Japan national team player Morishima Hiroaki was there as a special guest for the event, along with Gamba Osaka's Gamba Boy and Cerezo Osaka's Lobby and Madam Lobina. They spent time with the participants, taking photos together and giving cheers to them. The JFA Uniqlo Soccer Kids are held at 14 different domes and football stadiums around the nation. The last of which will be held in Kanagawa Prefecture on 15 March.

●Comments from the Host
Secretary General, General Incorporated Association Osaka Prefectural Football Association
This festival has been held with the support from Uniqlo since 2003, and a total of 150,000 kids have participated in it around the country. In Osaka, we had it at Kyocera Dome Osaka in the first year and had hosted eight events at Nagai Stadium, Kincho Stadium and then back at Kyocera Dome afterwards. Those who participated in those days have become high school students. We hope everybody here to listen to  your fathers and mothers at home well, listen to your teachers at your kindergartens well, and listen to your football coaches well. The Japan Football Association are supporting from this generations through the senior generations in terms of football. As we've had another successful event, we appreciate the people from Uniqlo and staff members. (At the closing ceremony)

●Comments from the one of Guardians
Kashihara Tomoko, mother of Kashihara Ruito who attends at Wellness Tsurumi Kindergarten
We participated in it as a member of his kindergarten's football club today. They usually have only one practice a week and it was the first time for him to play in a game since he became a senior. They didn't particularly have a practice for today, but my son has had more interest in football and watches it on television sometimes. Son is a fan of Kakitani and cheers for him. After attending this event, my son got to have good experience as he was able to play more seriously, which I don't usually get to see. My son played in all the three games, though he wasn't able to score. But he played good games. He seems to have wanted to score, so after this point on, hopefully he practices more seriously and score some goals.
