2014 S Class coach training courses start

The S Class coach training lectures are meant to train those who could coach professional players as well as develop those who could be Japanese coaching leaders. Starting this year, it has been divided into three terms – the first term, mid term and latter term – and a seven-month long lecture, which finishes on 25 December, has started.

Day 1: The trainees assembled in Saitama City and watched a Week 14 J. League matchup between Urawa Reds and Cerezo Osaka, and analysed their offense and defense. After that, they moved to Tsukuba and held group works for analysis and summaries up until late.

Day 2: They held an event called ASE (社会性を育成する実際体験) on the Tsukuba University campus. After an ice break, they were divided into groups and come up with ideas and cleared the issues with discussions.
In the afternoon, they moved to Kashima City, where they got to unite with the football players of Ryutsu Keizai University, who would support the short-period course, and played a game to check their conditions.

Day 3: The groups made coaching measures to correct the issues that they came up with from the game on the first day, and began the practical coaching. They did that throughout the day for the next three days.

Day 6: With lectures that would be held in Tokyo from the following week in sight, they held discussions and presentations to deepen their mutual understandings on the practical coaching themes, and wrapped up their six-day short-period course.

The extensive course began on 26 May in Tokyo. The 20 trainees, instructors and staff, who were selected the practical coaching trials and interviews, will get to work together as a team.

Instructors' comments

SUDO Shigemitsu Coach training sub-director, S Class instructor
The 2014 S Class course have begun. The course has been divided into three terms this year and the final day is 25 Dec. Through the practical activities, we would like the trainees to have clear judgement standards of their own, and ultimately show some original colors of their own that are different from others. ''There's more than one way. You should not neglect on the principles. But there are always the best options available.'' We would like them to establish their respective concepts through the course based on the philosophy. In order to achieve that, we want to have environments to be able to discuss in bold manners wit open-minded attitudes. Hopefully, we would like to see new values will be added to their own values that they've had.
The World Cup in Brazil will start soon. We are looking forward to see the moment that Japanese coaches will lead other nations in the stage of the World Cup. It would be obvious that it would be beneficial for Japanese football's development.
We have a long way to go, but would like to take every single day importantly and see smiles on all the members on the final day.

Trainees' comments

OIWA Go, Kashima Antlers
The 2014 S Class coach training course started. The 20 coaches, who are in charge of various categories throughout the nation, appeared to be nervous at the beginning, but they eventually got to get rid of their jitters, and after all we think we took off to a great start of the six-day short-period course. For the next seven months, we would like to make the course a great one as everybody, including the instructors, trainees and staff, become one like a family. Hopefully it will be a good one.

MORIOKA Ryuzo Kyoto Sanga F.C., Sagawa Printing coach
The official S Class coach training course has finally started. With the 20 comrades, who have passions for football, instructors and staff, we would like to make the lectures great ones.
In order to achieve my own dream and achieve the dream for the future of Japanese football, I would like to understand football more deeply.
