Eligibility

1) A team and a player shallfulfil the regulations 13(1) to (11) of the National Evening and Correspondence High School Sports Festival. (Excerpt from “Japan Evening and Correspondence High School Festival Regulation” at http://zenkoku-t2.com/)

  • i) While players are selected at prefectural qualifiers or by recommendation of each prefectural high school athletic federation, a player in the three-year program is allowed to play up to three times in the same competition, and a player in the four-year program is allowed to play up to four times. However, a student who belongs to a program with no year-grade category is allowed to play up to four times in the same competition.
  • ii) There is no age restriction.
  • iii) Players and teams that participate in the Inter High School Sports Festival in the same year are not eligible for the event.
  • iv) A team is not allowed to mix players from evening and correspondence courses. The joint team arrangement may be done in accordance with “the Provision and Regulation of Joint Team Arrangement for small-sized Night and Correspondence High School.” (PDF Link)

2) Participating players shall have a physical checkup prior to the event and are required to have approval from the principal of their own school or the president of the relevant high school athletic federation.
3) A player shall fulfill the qualification regulation by competitions that is specified separately (PDF Link).
4) A team and a player shall be registered for the Japan Football Association (JFA) in the year including for the regional qualifiers. An addition or an amendment of an individual registration shall be completed by Friday 27 June 2014. All the 18 registered players on a team shall carry their picture ID issued by the JFA.

Number of Participating teams

1) Only one team is allowed to participate per registered school.
2) The event is held with the total of 47 teams from each of the 47 prefectures. If the number of teams does not meet the maximum number, teams are added in accordance with the event’s special regulations as long as it does not affect the event management.
