Hong Kong Women's National Team holds training camp in Shizuoka

The Hong Kong Women's National Team held a training camp from 23 to 29 March in Gotemba city, Shizuoka in order to raise the level of the team. The Hong Kong Football Association had requested the Japan Football Association’s support for this training camp, and they decided to hold it during the Easter holiday, when the national football players could take a week off from their usual work.

It was their first camp in Japan, and they played two training matches during their stay. The players had a productive time, and enjoy sightseeing on the final day.

The results of the training matches are as follows:

24 March vs Shizuoka Sangyo University Women's Football Club 0-3 (0-0, 0-2, 0-1) 30min. x 3
27 March vs Nojima Stella kanagawa Sagamihara 1-2 (0-0, 1-2) 45min. x 2

Wong Yeuk Ling Betty, the team manager
As both the facilities and the food were excellent, we could hold our training camp in an ideal environment to strengthen ourselves. The opponents in our training matches were very strong and we could learn a lot. Everyone, who took care of us, was wonderful. We’d like to come back to Japan. I do hope Japanese teams will hold a training camp in Hong Kong. I appreciate the support of all the staff from the Japan Football Association.

Chan Shuk Chi, the Head Coach
It was a perfect training camp in every respect. In particular, the hospitality and the service at the hotel was by far the best. The opponents, who we met for the training matches, were very strong with good skills. I believe the players had an excellent experience.

Chan Wing Sze, the Captain
We held a great training camp thanks to the staff’s great support as well as the excellent facilities. I have stayed in Niigata once before and experienced wonderful hospitality back then. I felt the strong affinity the Japanese have towards football through their kindness. It was great we played against strong teams. I’d like to come back to hold another camp here.
