U-22 Japan National Team Activity Report on Singapore Tour (2/13)

The U-22 Japan National Team had their third day of the Singapore tour. In the morning practice session, the players had some physical training, including the a conditioning test and core exercises, as well as the developing their skill, such as the combination of attacks and the crosses.

Teguramori Makoto, the head coach, and Endo Wataru (Shonan Bellmare) appeared at a press conference hosted by the Football Association of Singapore at noon. Teguramori Makoto, the head coach, extended his gratitude to the Football Association of Singapore and commented "we'd like to show what we've been practicing in preparation for the qualifying round." Endo expressed enthusiasm "we'd like to win an away game."

In the afternoon practice session, the players focused on the tactics for tomorrow’s game, including practicing keeping the possession and playing a four-on-four game.

The team arrived in the late afternoon the day before and had already started two practice sessions a day. However, the expressions of the players were positive and they seemed to be having a productive time on this tour in preparation for the coming qualifying round next month.

Tomorrow the team will play against the U-23 Singapore national team. The details of the match will be in tomorrow’s report.

Comments

FW 14 ARANO Takuma(Consadole Sapporo)
The theme of this tour is ‘acclimatising to the heat’ and developing combinations in preparation for the qualifying round in March. I know whether I play well in the Olympics or not will affect my future career greatly. I’d like to score goals at the match against the U-23 Singapore national team, so that we can get through the qualifying round for the Olympics.

GK 18 KUSHIBIKI Masatoshi(Shimizu S-Pulse)
We have had three practice sessions in Singapore. We communicate well and there is a good atmosphere around the team. In tomorrow’s game I’d like to play, bearing in mind that we want to get a good result as a team and have a good game. Then I’d like to do my best to play well at the matches of my club, so that I will be chosen for the qualifying round in March and get good results there.

DF 12 MUROYA Sei(Meiji University)
It’s a rare opportunity for me to practice with professional players. So I spend every, single day learning as much as I can. I’d like to keep a clean sheet in tomorrow’s match and win against the U-23 Singapore national team. I’d also like to win our first game in Japan against the U-22 Myanmar national team on 11 March, showing many people our victory, and get ready for the qualifying round in the end of March.

MF 16 OHSHIMA Ryota(Kawasaki Frontale)
In tomorrow’s match, I’d like to play without any mistakes and win the match, assisting or scoring goals. I expect a huge reaction from my relatives or friends about the game against the U-22 Myanmar national team on Wednesday 11 March. I’d like to play to win the match. I will stay focused on the qualifying round, bearing in mind the slogan ‘never lose’.

FW 11 ASANO Takuma(Sanfrecce Hiroshima)
On the previous tour, I could use my skills and got a good result, which gave me great confidence. Playing at the Olympics is one of my major goals. I’d like to give 100% on this tour, staying ambitious for goals, so that I will be chosen for the qualifying round. I’d like to keep trying hard everyday at my club after the tour.
