Match Report

At the beginning of the match, Japan Women’s National U-14 Team had a hard time, struggling to connect the ball robustly due to intense pressure by Korea. As quick decisions were made as time went on and the team took initiative with proper passes, taking their pace to make a game. However, the match ended up the 1st half without a goal due to the lack of deliberate attacking tactics and accuracy to break through in an attacking third.

In the 2nd half after the interval, though Japan possessed the ball longer time, intensifying its attacks and successfully sending the ball behind the opponent’s defence line, it still struggleed to put the ball into the goal net as the 1st half. Just before the game end ended, KATSUWADA finally headed a CK into the goal, which gave Japan a victory at 1-0.
Al though the team achieved to increase awareness to keep ball procession to win goals as a whole including a GK, it still have to be improved to take advantage of arising opportunities.

Comments

YAMASHITA Rina (Osaka: Cerezo Osaka Sakai Girls)
This is the third time for me to play against Korea Republic Women’s National Team. Points of my awareness in today’s game are qualities of coaching and kick, which means I tried to convey my intention to my teammates in a way easy to understand at one time as well as kick a ball into a space just in front of feet of receivers.
Though Korean players were large, we competed well with them in several tough physical contacts. The team had many chances closing goals and finally gained a score, taking advantage of the CK.
I will make efforts to work remaining training camp from tomorrow with high motivation for a next game.

KUTSUWADA Ayumi(Saitama: Urawa Reds Ladies Junior Youth)
We were motivated to perform very well in the morning practice session for the game with Republic Korea. Through trainings,I learned a very important thing that we can dodge the opponent, when we trap a ball in a slight different position. As even slight inaccurate passes possiblly decrease the speed of attacks as well as give a chance to the opponent to rob a ball, I need to take much care on those plays.
I played as a Side half in today’s game, forming good attacks with close coordination with Side backs. Because I was likely to play in only one side, I will try to have a faint awareness to play on the other side next time. It was a pleasure for me to make contribution to my team’s victory with a goal.

NAKAE Moe(Niigata: Albirex Niigata Ladies U-15)
I have taken part in the Elite Program for the first time. Given such situation, I was very tense, but making good communication with others eased my tensions easily.
Everyone in our team got motivated to take on Korea Republic with strong feelings, but was lack of awareness to gain goals. I will keep it in mind and work on it from next practice tomorrow. We will train jointly with Korea tomorrow, making effort to compete with them well physically. I will focus on each plays of mine.
