Australian squad land for Kirin Challenge Cup 2014

For the Kirin Challenge Cup 2014 scheduled on Tuesday 18 November at Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka, some of Australia National Team players have landed on Japan soil one after another since Monday.

The squad is getting together in preparation for the match about a week later. On the first day, only a handful of players who had already arrived checked their conditioning by going through light workout such as stretching. The Australia team plan to officially begin their practice after all the players arrive in Japan.

Ange Postecoglou, Head Coach
I’m very happy to come to Japan to have an important match for both teams taking part in the Asian Cup.
We will get prepared for the match during the week. I’m looking forward to playing against very tough opponents like Japan.

DF Nikolai Topor-Stanley(Captain of ACL champions, WSW)
It’s always an honour to play on the national team, and I’m happy to come here for this match against Japan.
I had ACL matches in lots of Asian countries over the past months.
I’m looking forward to playing in front of lots of fans again.

DF Ivan Franjic
It’s good coming here to Japan during the significant spell ahead of the Asian Cup.
Australia and Japan had good games in recent periods, so I hope we can show a good game next Tuesday again.

FW James Troisi
Because the Asian Cup is coming up, we’ve got to get well-prepared and make the next week’s game a good one.
It’s going to be the last game prior to the tournament. I’m looking forward to the game against the best team in Asia.
