Coach Ikeda of U-17 Japan Women’s National Team appears in Official Press-Conference of FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018

On Monday 12 November, one day before their opening match of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018, Coach IKEDA Futoshi of the U-17 Japan Women’s National Team appeared in an official press-conference along with the coaches of the Group B rivals, Brazil, Mexico, and South Africa.

With each coach stating their aspiration ahead of the tournament, Brazil’s Coach LUIZAO mentioned, “Japan is a very organised team with great quality. We should see an equally matched battle tomorrow.” Coach Ikeda also shared his take of the match, “The players of Brazil have excellent individual skills that we must be careful of. They also have great speed in the flanks and their players are very eager to score goals, so we must be well prepared against them.”

Japan will face Brazil on Tuesday 13, followed by South Africa on Friday 16, and Mexico on Tuesday 20.

We are very honoured to be participating in the World Cup. We are also very thankful of the warm hospitality shown by the people of Uruguay. We will give our very best in each of our matches.
