U-16 Japan Women's National Team short-listed squad - domestic camp report in June (6/22)

U-16 Japan Women's National Team short-listed squad - domestic camp report in June (6/22)

U-16 Japan National Women's shortlisted squad began a training camp in Osaka Prefecture.

The young girls started their training session under heavy clouds. They first jogged to warm up their body. Then, as one of the icebreakers, the players worked on juggling the ball hand in hand in a circle in groups of six players each.

They competed to cross the designated finish line. The training of the day included fundamentals such as agility and trunk training to improve physical strength. After a Rondo drill, they played a 3v3 small-sided scrimmage at the end to finish the training of the day.

At a meeting after dinner, the squad went through their objective for the AFC U-16 Women's Championship in November. They also looked back their training camp in April and watched video footage of a Japan women's U-19s match at the USA trip in May to share what the good offence and good defence are.

Players' Comments

ABE Yukina (Fujieda Junshin High School)
It's my first time to join the national team's camp, and I enjoyed working on training today. It was the training with players who I met for the first time, but I will try to actively communicate with them without hesitation. In the upcoming practice and matches, I will show what I am and play with courage. And then, I want to take advantage of the experience for the AFC U-16 Women's Championship.

ENDO Jun (JFA Academy Fukushima)
It was my second women's U-16s camp. Sticking to quality of play and communicating with my teammates, I was able to have a lively, fun training session. In the night meeting, we listened to a talk about nutrition, looked back the last training camp and watched a women's U-19s match.

In addition to Japan U-16s, France U-16s, Chile U-16s and Costa Rica U-16s stay at the same place for the U-16 International Dream Cup. I want to have the time with no regrets by making as many communications as possible with those international players and absorbing everything I can in the short four-day camp.

MATSUDA Shino (Nippon TV Menina)
We were able to start training in a good mood today. We will have two training matches. I will carefully stick to the details like passing quality and finishing touch in each match. And I will also try to get involved in passing moves of the team and call out to communicate with my teammates.

TAKAHASHI Hana (Urawa Reds Ladies Youth)
I was trying to call out a lot in the training. We worked on agility and trunk training and passing and controlling drills, and finished with a 3v3 small-sided game. Calling out enough and communicating with lots of teammates, I will try to take advantage of them for combinations in training and matches.

From tomorrow, I will always try my best as we have morning and afternoon sessions and practice matches. In the upcoming matches, we will definitely win and I will try to learn a lot of things out of them.
