SAMURAI BLUE work out to further improve condition

SAMURAI BLUE’s training camp entered the fourth day. In the morning, the squad were divided into two groups – the players who started it on the opening day and the others who just joined the day before. The first eight early birds started with aerobic exercises and moved on to enhancing physical performance in anaerobic situations. On the other hand, the other players who joined from the third day spent a large portion of the time again for aerobic training which the team regards as the foundation of conditioning.

After pushing their body very hard on the previous four days, the eight players did not work out in the afternoon to rest their body. The afternoon session took place with only Nagatomo Yuto (FC Internazionale Milano) and Okazaki Shinji (1.FSV Mainz 05). They worked on intensive training under the close eye of head coach Halilhodzic.

Players' Comment

OKAZAKI Shinji (1.FSV Mainz 05/ Germany)
(Speaking about the afternoon training with only two players,) I first want to appreciate the fact that lots of staff members took part in it. The afternoon session had a lot of drills for individual skills, and our head coach told us about the importance of those skills. I felt I wouldn't go forward from here unless I also improve them more.
I wasn't able to show my best at the Brazil World Cup and Asian Cup. That means I don't have a spot on the starting lineup secured. And in the midst of that, getting more competitive is important to me as well. I want to convey what I've experienced and will do my utmost to lead the team in that regard.
