Honduras National Team arrive in Japan for Kirin Challenge Cup 2014

Comments from Head Coach and Player

Hernan MEDFORD, Head Coach
I’ve visited Japan many times including when I was a player and Saprissa’s coach. Japan is really a great country, and every time I take part in events here it was fantastic. Japan National Team has many quality players who play in Europe. We’ve just got into the new stage where coaches and players deepen mutual understanding. This game will be definitely important for us. It’s one of the most important games since it is not only for the preparation for the Copa De Oro next June but also in the sense that we can play against one of the top class teams. I hope Japanese fans enjoy the game looking forward to a spectacular game.

DF  Emilio IZAGUIRRE
I was looking forward to this time because it’s my first time to visit Japan. I don’t really feel it’s cold here as I play on a Scotland team. My impression on Japan is that they are dynamic and fast with lots of players playing in Europe. Individually, he is not on the national team now, but I have respect for Nakamura Shunsuke. This is just one of the friendlies, but we are going out there and win the game. I’ve faced Aguirre before when he was in charge of Mexico National Team, so also in that sense, I’m looking forward to the game. I hope Japanese fans enjoy the game.
