Comment of Coach IKEDA Futoshi (Nadeshiko Japan)

Now that our opponents have been decided, we are once again bracing ourselves for next July. Japan will also be playing Spain and Costa Rica in the men's FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ in November this year, so I feel a strange connection with them. Zambia will be making their first appearance at the World Cup, and they will certainly put in a lot of preparation for the tournament, so we too must be well prepared to start off the tournament on the right foot. We are very much looking forward to playing against all these countries. I also look forward to playing in the group stage and on to the semi-finals in New Zealand, a country with both beautiful natural landscape and cityscape, and seek to play the final in Sydney, Australia, where a wonderful stadium awaits us.
