U-17 Japan Women’s National Team hold final training session for FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016
01 October 2016
On 30 September, with one day to go before the first game of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016 against Ghana, the U-17 Japan Women’s National Team held a practice session in the afternoon.
Prior to the session, the players shared the team’s slogan for this tournament. They went through set pieces in preparation for their first game, and NAGANO Fuka encouraged her teammates by saying: ‘let’s make sure we beat Ghana!’ to finish their practice.
During the evening meeting, the players listened attentively to coach KUSUNOSE ahead of tomorrow’s game.
Players' Comments
DF #4 TAKAHIRA Miyu (JFA academy FUKUSHIMA)
We went through set pieces today as our final preparation for the first game. I practiced set pieces, thinking and simulating tomorrow’s game. We, the players, are the only ones who can perform on the pitch. So I’d like to display what we’ve been practicing so far as much as possible, not to mention following the coach’s words. I’m determined to win the game tomorrow.
DF #3 WAKISAKA Reina (CEREZO OSAKA SAKAI Ladies)
My dream tournament, the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016, will start tomorrow. We did our final preparation well today with a good atmosphere. I’d like to play hard as a united team with gratitude for the people who have been supporting us.
