Japan Beach Soccer National Team squad Brazil trip report (3/24)

Japan Beach Soccer National Team squad Brazil trip report (3/24)

The Japan Beach Soccer National Team had two-a-day training on the morning and afternoon and prepared themselves in the best way for the upcoming match against the Brazil Beach Soccer National Team to be played on the following day.

In the morning training, the team spent most of the time for shooting practice to improve their finishing accuracy, which was an issue in the match against Flamengo held on previous day. Then they had a game using a full size pitch and checked the coach’s tactics.

It has been 7 days since they started the training in Brazil. Their combination has been improved each day and they showed various offence patterns today.

The afternoon sessions were lighter for the match tomorrow. They had a shooting exercise especially from corner kick, and checked their offence tactics from kick-off. To finish the training before the match, they had individual sessions; the players practiced free kicks from different positions and penalties.

Players' Comments

AKAGUMA Takuya (Dorsole Kitakyushu)
In these 7 days we have had training and matches, and I think we have understood what our Coach wants us to do and our communication and combination have improved gradually. 2 years ago, we lost the match against Brazil National Team in the Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup and as a player I couldn’t do anything at that time. Tomorrow, I want to do my best to revenge the defeat after 2 years.

NAKAHARA Yuki (Aveldage Kumamoto BS)
It has been a week since we came to Brazil and our team’s atmosphere is getting better as well as what we do in our training. I think we have prepared well for the match against Brazil tomorrow. I needed time to get familiar with the environment here but my condition has been very good since I have had good training sessions now. As a player, I want to utilise my advantages in speed and supporting other teammates to contribute to the team’s victory in the next 3 matches.
