U-16 Japan Women’s National Team are in final preparations for their 1st match at the AFC U-16 Women's Championship

U-16 Japan Women’s National Team had the 9th day of their training camp to prepare for the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship.

In the morning, there was on official press conference and the team’s coach KUSUNOSE Naoki expressed the team’s passion. "Nadeshiko Japan, Japan Women’s National Team, runners up at the FIFA Women’s World Cup held in Canada this year. To follow this Japan has to keep qualifying for the World Cup. So we will be one of the 2 top teams of this championship to qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup."

In the afternoon, the team had an 1 hour training session as final preparation before the first match tomorrow.

Japan will face Uzbekistan in the match. Uzbekistan qualified for this championship last time and this is their second time. Since they have had a series of difficult qualifier matches, it is important for Japan to compete with their power.

To get the victory in this championship, how we start the first match is important. As a team we have prepared for the first match, so I am confident. To complete our goal, we firstly win the match tomorrow to make a good start.

MF #13  ISERI Natsuki (JFA Academy Fukushima)
Tomorrow we have our first match. We will do our best with what we have done throughout the series of training sessions and we hope that it will be the good start for us. Our aim is to win this competition to get the ticket to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The first match of the group stage is very important. It is also important for building up the momentum of the team, so we will definitely win this match and get 3 points tomorrow. We will firstly do our best tomorrow and hopefully we can grow up through our experience gain in each match.

Japan is in Group B. Group A includes Chaina PR, Thailand, Iran, Korea Republic.
Top two teams will qualify for FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Jordan 2016.
