The 19th All Japan Women’s Youth (U-15) Championship presented by NIKE will be held from Saturday 26 July to Friday 1 August.
This is the only All Japan championship for secondary school girls and it will take place for 7 days taking 2 off-days. The champion team will be chosen from 32 teams are from regional preliminary matches. Each match is 60 minutes and the selection will be taken place through knocking-out matches.
This year, successive champion teams such as Kamimura Gakuen Junior High School Women’s Football Club (Kyusyu 3/ Kagoshima), the team which won the championship three times for consecutive years since 2010, Urawa Reds Ladies Junior Youth (Kanto 7 / Saitama), which had won five straight championships, and Fujieda Junshin Soccer Club Junior Youth Blue (Tokai 3 / Shizuoka) which won the championship last year. Kamimura Gakuen Junior High School, as only one school football club, is taking the challenge to be selected as one of the top teams with the other club teams.
Intensive matches are expected from the first day since the competition has expanded from 16 teams to 32 since the last championship was held in 2012, and the competition has changed to knock-out matches from the beginning. Several prominent players such as Kumagai Saki, Nakajima Emi, Kira Chinats, and Kiryu Nanase of Nadeshiko Japan, as well as, OKUMA Rana and MINAMI Moeka who contributed to win the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2014 in Costa Rica, experienced this championship before starting their senior footballing careers.
Each team of U-15 girls will play with high intensity. There will be lots to check out; we can find the future star players of Nadeshiko Japan. Please come to the venue of this championship.
