Objective

The Japan Football Association (“JFA”) holds this event to improve football skill and physical and mental health of female players in Japan and to contribute to the encouragement and development of women’s football as well as to further increase the number of club teams and activate their activities.

Tournament Bracket

The tournament bracket draw takes place at the JFA.

Eligibility

  • (1) A team shall be a JFA Registered team in the category of “women,” except for teams that belong to the Nadeshiko League, the Japan University Women’s Football Association and Prefecture High School Athletic Federations.
  • (2) A player shall be a female player born between 2 April 1996 and 1 April 2002 and registered for the JFA by the date of Tuesday 25 November 2014 except for players registered for the Japan University Women’s Football Association and Prefecture High School Athletic Federations. (There is another exception. Refer to the provision 7).)
    Teams that have only junior high school students or younger shall not be allowed to apply for the event participation.
  • (3) Besides the eligible players above, up to five overage players on a team shall be allowed to apply for and play in the tournament only if they were born between 2 April 1992 and 1 April 1996.
  • (4) Club Registration System: If a team belongs to the “Club” approved for “Club Registration” by the JFA , the players will be allowed to participate in the tournament on the team stated in 1) without transferring from a team within the same “Club “ organisation. In this case, if the participating team is made of players from multiple teams within the same “Club,” the team is still eligible to participate. That player shall fulfil the provision 2). The class or category where that players’ team belongs is not questioned. However, that player shall not play (or register for) the tournament on another team throughout qualifiers.
  • (5) International Players: Up to five international players can be registered on a team and up to three players can play per match.
  • (6) Transfer Players: A player shall not be able to play if she has played or registered for the tournament on another team throughout qualifiers.
  • (7) Exception: Only if the number of players consisting of a team does not reach 11, players who register for the Japan University Women’s Football Association and Prefecture High School Athletic Federations in the same team except for players who registered for the All Japan High School Women's Football Tournament and the All Japan University Women's Football Tournament including qualifiers can be added to the team until the total number reaches 18.

Number of Participating teams

Participating teams shall be 16 teams selected from the following regions:
Hokkaido: 1, Tohoku: 1, Kanto: 4, Hokushinetsu: 1,
Tokai: 2, Kansai: 2, Chugoku: 1, Shikoku: 1,
Kyushu: 1.
One team each from the regions the previous tournament (the 17th) champions and the runners-up team belong to.

Awards

This tournament has following regulations.

  • (1) The champions, runners-up and third-placed team will be awarded a certificate and medals, and the fourth-placed team will be awarded a certificate. The champions will be awarded the championship cup and retain it until the next championship is held.
  • (2) For the encouragement and development of fair play spirit, the Fair Play Award, consisting of a trophy and supplementary prize, will be awarded to the selected team in accordance with the JFA’s selection standard. The Fair Play Award shall be given per team and selected from the final-four teams in the tournament.
