Japan Beach Soccer National Team prepare for practice match against Bahamas

The Japan Beach Soccer National Team, who were attending at a training camp in the Bahamas, the site for the coming World Cup, held two practice sessions on the third day on Thursday 20 April.

During the training session in the morning, the players started with some core training and moved onto dribbling and ball controlling to warm up. Then they practiced shooting through various attacking patterns, followed by training in a game format to go through tactics, which they had been practicing, as well as preparations against the Bahamas National Team and the Poland National Team.

In the afternoon, the team held a session on the beach near their hotel, since they could not use a practice ground. They prepared a pitch, using markers, cones, and sticks, and went through their positioning. The players trained in a game format at the end to prepare for the match against Bahamas the following day.

The practice match against the Bahamas will kick-off at 18:00 local time on Friday 21 April.

Players' Comments

FP #5 IINO Tomoyuki (Dorsole Kitakyushu)
I am finally getting used to the time difference and the environment here in the Bahamas. We have been focusing on going through and improving our attack and defence through good communication among the team. I’d like to prepare well by taking care of each aspect carefully, including training, physical condition, sleep, and meals, so that I can perform fully from the opening match. I’d also like to stay focused in tomorrow’s match in order to perform well and get a good result.

FP #2 SUZUKI Masato (Tokyo Lequios BS)
We have been going through tactics in the morning and afternoon sessions today. The training has been high quality since we came to the Bahamas, and we’d like to continue this with no reason to regret in preparation for our first game against Poland in a week. In tomorrow’s training match against the Bahamas National Team, I’d like to work on our tactics.
