Coach's and Players' Comments

Ms. Liu Ying, Coach
First of all, I would like to thank the Japan Football Association (JFA) and everybody involved, for their support to make this training camp possible. Despite sudden changes in the schedule, everything was organized very well, and the players were able to focus on playing football. This training camp was the first camp held abroad for the U-15 age category, and it was aimed to deepen relationship between each other and to improve teamwork. We are very satisfied with our training camp as we were given the opportunity to conduct training-matches at such great facilities of J-GREEN Sakai.

We have been taking advantage of our physical strength in our football, and we managed to finish with three wins and one loss in our training-matches. However, the Japanese players showed a higher ability in terms of individual techniques and tactical understandings. These are important aspects we must obtain from now on.

Through this training camp each player was able to gain international experience, and we were able to accomplish our initial goal of improving teamwork. We have spent a very productive time. We were also able to learn what we are missing through the training-matches against Japanese teams, which we usually do not have the opportunity to face. We would love to conduct another training camp in Japan next year.

Wang Xin Ling, Captain
This was my first visit to Japan, and I have learned so many things. Our team lacks international experience and for some of our members, it was their first ever training-match against a foreign team. The level of Japan women’s football is very high, and we were able to know how good they are in terms of technical movements. I strongly felt that we are missing some of the aspects that they have; such as the ability to control the ball and provide accurate passes.

Many people showed up at J-GREEN Sakai during the weekend, and as I was watching the women’s match, I was surprised that there were so many people attending the match. We were also given the opportunity to refresh ourselves by visiting Shinsaibashi and the outlet mall.

Shi Xiao Min
First of all, I was surprised by how wonderful the facilities were at J-GREEN Sakai, where we held our training camp. As a football player you couldn’t ask for a better environment as there were many football fields, the turf conditions were great, and the meals served there were delicious. Regarding the training-matches, I was nervous and couldn’t perform well in the first match because I was not used to play international matches, but as we played more matches my performance got better. The Japanese teams played with confidence because each player had very good technical skills. By playing against teams that we usually do not play with, we were able to learn various playing styles and gain international experience.

Accepting teams from the AFC Member Associations to hold training camps in Japan

Upon receiving requests to hold training camps in Japan, JFA will make all arrangements including training-matches in efforts to support the strengthening of the national teams of the Member Associations.
